“The pearls themselves are lovely but the backs are very feeble. Though I have worked in jewellery, I found they were impossible to tighten because they are so small and weak. In fact, in attempting to make them more secure, I bent the gold so now I am going to a local jeweller to replace them. Such a shame to spoil lovely pearls for a hap’oth of tar!”
